– “There is no condition where nothing can be done”
How did we manage to help patients with varying degrees of brain damage walk, even though other physicians gave them virtually no hope?
The success of our treatment consists in a suitably designed program of intensive neurorehabilitation, which is supervised all the time by the head therapist and the physician-in-chief of the clinic.
Who is intensive neurorehabilitation suitable for?
Neurorehabilitation treatment is intended for paediatric and adult patients with the following diagnoses:
- Cerebral palsy (abbreviated CP)
- Cerebrovascular accident (CVA)
- Multiple sclerosis (MS)
- Parkinson's disease (PD)
- Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA)
- Various forms of genetic impairment
- Severe traumas (accidents, injuries)
- Paraparesis, paraplegia
What is the course of the neurorehabilitation treatment at our clinic?
Regular exercise and sufficient intensity are key factors for creating new movement patterns. Therefore, the patient exercises at our clinic daily in 2 to 4 week cycles, which are repeated several times a year.
Effectiveness of specific outpatient therapies is facilitated by our Robotics Centre, which is equipped with state-of-the-art robotic instruments.
Swiss robotic equipment
An experienced team of therapists together with the utilised robotic equipment provide our patients with the best care in the Central Europe.
As the only private clinic in the Czech Republic, we have e.g. a fully equipped pair of Lokomat robots designed for practising of correct movement patterns.
Unique rehabilitation using virtual reality and Hi Tech equipment not only strengthens internal motivation, but also increases effectiveness of the exercise, leading to muscle strength improvement at a dizzying rate.
American concept TheraSuit
Another important method is the special concept TheraSuit, which is used to effectively support the trunk muscles. TheraSuit wear has an effect on musculoskeletal and nervous systems during therapy.
This comprehensive and intensive treatment results in permanent rewriting of the brain map and the development or fixing of correct movement patterns. In addition, independence improves, muscle strength increases and, last but not least, our therapy induces a shift in the sensorimotor development.
How can you initiate therapy?
The treatment is preceded by an initial examination by the physician-in-chief of the clinic, which can be performed in Prague or online. After the initial inspection, you will receive a draft of the therapeutic treatment plan, performed on the outpatient basis. If necessary, the intensive treatment is supplemented by speech therapy, ergotherapy, Snoezelenmultisensory room, or other additional procedures.
Should you have any other questions or you want to schedule an initial examination immediately, call us or use WhatsApp (+420 702 012 913) or fill out the contact form below. We will contact you as soon as possible with an available examination date.
